Birth Affirmations That Got Me Through My Unmedicated Labor

I shared in this blog post that I was able to get through most of my labor without the need for an epidural, and I believe a lot of it had to do with the mindset I had when I was going into it.

With each contraction, I imagined myself surrendering to the natural flow of my body and released my fears as I exhaled. It helped TREMENDOUSLY to trust my body’s instincts and assure myself that the pain would be over.

Ultimately, I have decided that an unmedicated birth will not be in the cards for me in the future due to the reasons I listed here, but for those who have decided to try for an unmedicated birth, I have put together a list of the affirmations I repeated in my head over and over during my labor.

I truly hope it helps you!

Why are Birth Affirmations Important?

Birth affirmations are great not only for unmedicated labor but EVERY birth because they help to align your mind, heart, and body to move as one.

Rather than operating in fear and resistance, we invite our bodies to process what is happening and fully surrender to the experience. While it is no substitute for any medical intervention, birth affirmations help to center the mind in remembering the reason behind it all: to birth your baby into this world.
