Happy Fall! :)
If you’re anything like me, this time of the year fills you with excitement thinking of all of the festivities to come. I love planning creative ways to cherish these moments with loved ones, so the holidays are always a magical time for me.
Being thrown into full quarantine mode with a 5-month-old put a damper on our Halloween plans, but I was still determined to celebrate. With only a couple hours to spare in the day, I swiftly put together the decorations that were pre-bought for our canceled Halloween party and got to work!
I set up a small backdrop and decorated my coffee table with some spooky goodies, and with the ten minutes that my infant gave me, I drew a scar on his forehead with eyeliner.
If you’re looking for an easy Halloween costume for your baby boy, here it is!
Harry Potter Baby Boy Costume
For our baby’s first Halloween, we dressed him up as Harry Potter: the Boy Who Lived (Through 2020). We bought a simple onesie off of Amazon which came with a wizard cape, added some black pants and sneakers, and gave him some Harry Potter accessories. Don’t forget that iconic scar!
our Harry Potter Family Costume
Disclaimer: our beautiful child allowed us only a few more seconds before screaming his head off for us to take these family photos. We only managed to take a couple and I laugh every time I look at them, but it’s for the memories, right?
To complete this family look, I dressed as Professor McGonagall while my husband dressed as Hagrid. It’s safe to say that he won the contest, haha!
Here are some other pairings that would work with your Harry Potter baby:
Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley
Professor Umbridge and Professor Dumbledore
Bellatrix and Voldemort
Luna Lovegood and Draco Malfoy
Harry Potter Halloween Decorations
Our original plan was to host a small party at our home, but an unfortunate exposure to COVID forced us to cancel. I didn’t want our decorations to go to waste, so I set up a photoshoot using our coffee table and a Bumbo seat.
Maybe one day we’ll have a real Harry Potter-themed party, but for now, I’m linking some of the decorations that I used for these shots:
Have you figured out your family costumes for this year? What are your favorite looks from the years before? I’d love to hear your ideas!
